My children get more packed lunches from home than these nasty school lunches. All thats in favor of school lunches needs to have ba a captain audience and have to take eat this mess. It stinks and smells like someone fished it out of a dumpster.With stomach cancer on the rise and some reports says it comes from eating sandwiches with processed meat , whats going to happen here, by the time our kids get God forbid they get in their 20″s here stomach cancer, Everone needs to go to school and watched all these food go from the line to the garbage our tax dollars. Its a shame and a waste.And our kids come home and grab whatever they can becaused they are hungry.I worked in school lunches for 9years I know from experiance.Goverment stay away from our kids and let us raise them. I would rather them have a piece of pizza and have something on their stomach than go all day with nothing.

I am a manager at Middletown Elementary in Louisville. This program has been a success. Our children like the new foods developed by our Nutrition Center and Chefs. Our students are eating a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as trying things that they have never eaten before. They like the steamed cabbage and do ask for it. They liked the asparagus we had and like the new Blue Ribbon Muffins. their favorite muffin is however the Banana muffin. Keep up the good work.

Stella,
We are using the Reduced Fat Bosco sticks from Gordon. I do give them 2 to meet the meat alt. requirement. The bread is 25% whole grain on these too. We offer the government Marinara sauce on the side and some take it and some like them plain. Nice meeting you , Stella and good luck there in Tennessee! As we all know , the New Federal guidlines should be along very soon !!
